The idea is to keep this as simple as possible because it's not always easy saying goodbye, especially when you're not actually going anywhere for a while! So here's how it works...

VIDEO CREATION

Using any method that you currently have available make a movie for any one or multiple people in your life. Ideally your webcam and/or cellphone would have some sort of recording device that will work fine.

ACCOUNT SETUP

Once your video(s) are complete create an account on andbytheway.com. During the account creation you will be asked to identify 3 lifelines, these are folks who we will reach out and communicate with to verify your existence if we cannot get in touch with you. The lifelines may or may not be the people you're creating videos for. You could have 50 videos uploaded for 50 different people, but you'll still only have 3 lifelines. Lastly, you will assign who each video is intended for by providing us with their contact info, ideally email, social media page and/or phone number, so that we have as many ways as possible to reach them.

SAFETY

Once your videos are uploaded we immediately download and store them in 3 safe locations that are not online so they can never be hacked or accessed by anyone, and we keep backups for emergencies. Your privacy is our top priority.

DELIVERY

We will attempt to verify your continued existence every month using your information. Once three months of continued non-contact by you has past, your account goes in to "delivery" status and we will reach out to your lifelines. After your life lines have verified you have passed to the great beyond your videos will be sent out.

TIPS

1. Be cautious with who you pick for your life lines.
2. Always update your contact info in your profile on andbytheway.com
3. If you ever change your mind about a video and want it deleted simply email us at admin@andbytheway.com
